Uplevel your business acumen to match your design skills

A group program to help web designers create demand, master workflows, and build a thriving (sustainable) career doing what they love most.

Out of the hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of talented web designers in the world, only a small percentage have managed to cross that elusive 6-figure mark. In fact, the majority are making under $50,000 a year, or can only dream about going full-time as their own boss. I’m calling bullsh*t.

It’s my mission to help web designers shift the paradigm from starving, strung-out artist to sought after creative powerhouse… who’s paid well.

I remember a business lunch, early in my career.

I was with a new connection at a swanky hotel in Palm Beach, munching on a crisp salad and soaking in the oceanside views as we chatted (it all felt so adult at the time).

She was established. Confident in her success.

And she told me, “Don’t bother to get out of bed for less than $1000.”

I’ve never forgotten that moment.

It wasn’t so much the dollar number that stuck with me, but how unapologetic she was about her own worth.

She brought value to the table. She knew it, her clients knew it, and her success in business reflected it.

And more than any other skill I’ve acquired over my 10+ years in the digital space, this attitude – this unwavering confidence in my own worth – was the hardest to develop.

Why am I sharing this story?

Because I found this attitude to be the key differentiator between struggling freelancers and booked out designers in three critical areas:

Creating Demand for Services 0%

Pricing as a Premium Provider0%

Managing Client Expectations (and Conflicts) with Poise0%

The GC Academy… what is it exactly?

Short Answer: a group mentorship program for female web designers

Longer Answer: I’m still figuring out the details, but I envision The GC Academy to be a library of resources to help female web designers evolve and grow as full-time, working creatives.

The particulars are still TBD, but topics on the list include:
